The scientists will receive grants amounting to PLN300,000. According to the organizers of the competition, the awarded scholars are able to effectively combine research with training of younger staff and their attainments so far provide assurance of proper use of the funding.
The "Mistrz" Programme was initiated in 1998 r., its main objective is to support distinguished scholars by awarding them grants designed either to intensify the research they are already conducting or to explore new fields of research.
The grants are awarded via a closed competition which covers one field of science each year out of the four:
- I – Earth and Life Sciences;
- II – Chemical and Material Sciences;
- III – Mathematics, Physics and Engineering;
- IV – the Humanities and Social Sciences.
In 2013 the competition will be addressed to scholars conducting their research in the field of Chemical and Material Sciences.
