UW on one of leading positions in Perspektywy
and Rzeczpospolita University Ranking

In this year edition of the Ranking once again the main candidates to lead were the University of Warsaw and Jagiellonian University in Cracow. So far our University has won the leading position seven times, however, this year UW has been a margin of 2.29 points short of winning.

In the 13th edition of the Ranking Jagiellonian University has been declared the best university in Poland. It has won the leading position for the sixth time, followed by our University; the third place has been taken by Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. It is followed by two Universities of Technology – correspondingly, from Warsaw and Wrocław.

In the Academic Ranking of Universities in Poland, six categories are assessed: prestige, innovation, academic potential, academic effectiveness, studying environment and internationalization. In the latter category – for the second consecutive year – our University has proved to be unbeatable among public universities. This result reflects excellent performance in international exchange; also, many fields of study are offered where classes are provided in foreign languages; they are frequently administered by foreign academic professors.

The University of Warsaw is still the most prestigious university in Poland – we have been granted the highest grade in this category – 100 points. This result means that our University is most valued by employers and academic professors and our faculties are extremely popular among laureates and finalists of school subject competitions.

Similarly, the academic potential of our University has been recognised and highly ranked. This category comprises, among others, pragmatic evaluation (measured as grades total granted to individual units evaluated by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, in relation to the number of units evaluated at a particular university), the number of academic teachers with habilitation and doctoral titles and degrees as well as the share of professors with highest qualifications among academic teachers.
