A student of UW receives the title of the Best Student in Poland

Artur Bilski won the second place in 43rd edition of a nationwide "Primus Inter Pares" contest and he was rated first in the category "Primus Expert – Legal Sciences". The main goal of the contest, which is organized by the Association of Polish Students, is to honour the most gifted students in Poland.

Artur Bilski is a graduate with the major of internal security at the Faculty of Journalism and Political Sciences of UW, being currently a student of the fourth year of law at UW and the fourth year of finance and accountancy at Warsaw School of Economics.

The laureate works very actively at our university – he is, among others, a member of the Faculty Council at the Faculty of Law, the President of Student Scientific Society of Bank Legislation and the ambassador of Wolters Kluwer Publishing at the University of Warsaw.

Artur successfully combines his academic and professional careers. He works as a Personal Assistant for the PKO BP Chairman of the Board and as a junior attorney at RSM International, where he specialises in international tax legislation. Apart from this, he participates in a project on reforming the legislation on public procurement at Sobieski Institute.

Artur Bilski has received a grant from the Minister of Science and Higher Education as well as from the Rector of UW, he is an associate of the European Centre for Geopolitical Analysis, the Civil Development Forum and STRATFOR.

In his master thesis Artur intends to focus on the issues of trading in financial instruments in the light of EU legislation. His numerous interests include comparative studies in law (in particular, in bank and tax regulations), trading in financial instruments, world history and oriental culture and literature.

The objective of the "Primus Inter Pares" contest is to honour the best students in Poland, who, in addition to obtaining high grade average, are successful both in their academic and other activity. Before the final decision on conferring the "Primus Inter Pares" title is made, apart from excellent academic performance, also the candidates’ record in social work is considered. The laureates work actively for the benefit of the academic community, they are members of student organizations, take part in student exchange schemes; not only do they excel in science, but also in culture and sport.
