MBA at UW best in Poland
A program conducted jointly by the University of Warsaw and the University of Illinois – Warsaw-Illinois Executive MBA for the second consecutive year won the first place in Perspektywy 2012 Ranking, leaving behind the MBA programs of such academic institutions as Kozminski University, Warsaw School of Economics or the School of Business at the Warsaw University of Technology.
Warsaw-Illinois Executive MBA program (WIEMBA) conducted by the UW Faculty of Management and College of Business, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is targeted at top and medium level management – the individuals with some experience at managing positions who are open to new solutions in business.
– The value and importance of the MBA at the University of Warsaw is proved by career paths of our graduates: 6 out of 20 top largest companies in Poland – according to “Top 500 List” of Rzeczpospolita newspaper, are managed by our graduates – Dr Tomasz Ludwicki, Director of WIEMBA Program claims. He further states: – We are a reliable and valued partner for business. We cooperate with such enterprises as PwC consulting company, ABB global energetic concern or one of the best advertising agencies in Poland – DDB Warsaw. Our students during their classes develop consultancy projects. In 2011 all the projects were implemented. We were able to achieve such excellent results owing to appropriate recruitment process, cooperation with distinguished lecturers and modern teaching methods.
Warsaw-Illinois Executive MBA program, accredited by AASCB and AMBA, has been offered by the University of Warsaw and the University of Illinois since 1991. Students attend a 650-hour program conducted by American and Polish lecturers in English. The participants solve case studies, resolve computer simulations and develop final consultancy projects. The studies are aimed at offering training to experienced managers in making strategic decisions determining further development of the organizations which they manage.
The Perspektywy 2012 Ranking is based on the information originating from mutually complementary sources: a study on employers (CATI method) conducted by the Polish Association for Human Resources Management, a survey completed by the program providers and a study on graduates (CAWI method) administered by Perspektywy.
– For employers and MBA candidates our ranking serves as a source of information concerning the quality of MBA programmes in Poland. Therefore, we observe a growing interest of MBA Programme providers in our ranking. This year we have had a record number of 28 applying programmes – as states Waldemar Siwiński, the Ranking organizer, the President of the Perspektywy Educational Foundation.
